Rome, the capital of podcasting: training, masterclasses, and live audio
Podcast Week is the premier Italian event entirely dedicated to the world of podcasting and digital audio. Conceived and organized by ASSIPOD - Italian Podcasting Association, the event takes place annually in Rome, transforming the Capital for a week into a meeting point for creators, professionals, companies, and enthusiasts. There is no other event of this scale dedicated to on-demand audio in the Lazio region.
The centerpiece of the week is PODCAMP, an intensive bootcamp-style course that guides participants through creating a podcast from scratch: from format conceptualization and writing to recording, editing, and distribution on platforms. Lessons are held daily with mandatory attendance and conclude with the issuance of a certificate. It is a path designed for those who want to turn their passion for audio storytelling into a concrete skill.
Alongside the training track, the program offers a rich series of free masterclasses and workshops, open to the public upon reservation, dedicated to the technical and narrative aspects of the medium: voice and interpretation, choosing equipment and microphones, investigative reporting podcasts, the transition from audiobook to podcast, and pitching techniques. There is no shortage of networking opportunities, aperitifs, and social evenings that foster exchange among industry leaders.
The event culminates with the Podcast Summit, a full day of live broadcasts, presentations, awards, and meetings with authors and key voices in the national landscape. It is the perfect occasion to listen to live-recorded podcasts, discover the year's innovations, and celebrate the best projects, including those created in schools as part of student-focused programs.
Podcast Week combines training, culture, and technological innovation in an accessible context: most activities are free to attend upon online reservation. With its educational mission and ability to build networks, the event confirms Rome and the Lazio region as one of the most vibrant laboratories for Italian podcasting, a constantly growing sector that intertwines journalism, storytelling, training, and new communication technologies.
The fifth edition of Podcast Week was held in Rome from March 23 to 28, 2026, hosted by the CTE - House of Emerging Technologies at Tiburtina Station. Organized by ASSIPOD, the week confirmed the Capital as a national reference point for podcasting, blending training, innovation, and meetings with industry professionals.
The PODCAMP, an intensive bootcamp-style course, took place daily from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM with the issuance of a final certificate. The schedule of free masterclasses, available by reservation, ran throughout the entire week.
The Podcast Party was also a highlight, an evening of dinner and networking with professional podcasters. Participation in events was free upon reservation.
Activities are held in Rome, primarily at the CTE - House of Emerging Technologies, located at Tiburtina Station (second floor). Some initiatives may take place at other city venues dedicated to podcasting and training.
The main venue is served by Tiburtina Station, easily accessible by train (high-speed and regional), the Metro Line B (Tiburtina stop), and numerous bus lines. Those arriving by car will find parking near the station area.
Participation in masterclasses and events is free upon online reservation. PODCAMP requires dedicated registration and mandatory attendance. We recommend booking in advance as spots are limited and some sessions sell out quickly.
