The music festival of young Marche talents stops in San Ginesio
The NYCO Festival is the public-facing part of the Network Youth Choir Orchestra, an ambitious educational and artistic project promoted by the Associazione Culturale Istituto Musicale N. Vaccaj APS of Tolentino. Founded in 2021, NYCO brings together over a hundred young choristers, instrumentalists, and dancers from dozens of municipalities in the Marche region each summer, coordinating a network of numerous musical realities, schools, and associations in the area. The resulting festival transforms the most evocative squares and villages of the Province of Macerata into open-air stages.
Among the locations involved in the summer tour is San Ginesio, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy", overlooking the Sibillini Mountains in the heart of the Marche. The NYCO Festival 2026 concert is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9:30 PM, in the very central Piazza Alberico Gentili, named after the famous jurist from Ginesio. The medieval setting of the square, with its historic buildings and collegiate church, lends a unique atmosphere to the show.
The NYCO show is not just a concert, but a true musical and theatrical narrative where different youth ensembles alternate and intertwine: the orchestra, children's and youth choirs, instrumentalists, and dance-theatre ensembles. Each edition features a different theme and musical dramaturgy, developed during the intensive week of the music camp preceding the tour. The artistic direction is entrusted to Vincenzo Pierluca.
NYCO is also a training path: in the days leading up to the concerts, the young participants take part in a music camp and masterclasses with renowned national teachers, gaining an experience of study, friendship, and personal growth. The project thus combines music, education, inclusion, and active citizenship among new generations, with the support of universities, conservatories, and municipal administrations in the Marche region.
The San Ginesio concert is part of a tour that in 2026 will visit several villages in the province between July 4th and 7th, with a final event scheduled for the autumn. An opportunity to discover the talent of the new generations of the Marche and, at the same time, the beauty of one of the most fascinating villages in the hinterland.
The NYCO Festival 2026 arrives in San Ginesio on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9:30 PM, in Piazza Alberico Gentili. The stop in San Ginesio is part of the summer tour of the Network Youth Choir Orchestra, which between July 4th and 7th involves several villages in the province of Macerata, with a final event scheduled for October 4th.
The festival concerts are preceded by the music camp (from June 29th to July 3rd) and masterclasses for advanced students, training sessions entrusted to nationally renowned teachers. The artistic direction is by Vincenzo Pierluca, while the organization is handled by the Associazione Culturale Istituto Musicale N. Vaccaj APS of Tolentino, along with a vast network of partners.
The detailed program of the show (theme, pieces, and ensembles performing) will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event on the official project channels.
The show brings together, as is tradition for NYCO, the orchestra, the children's and youth choirs, and the dance-theatre ensemble, in a musical narrative developed during the summer music camp.
The detailed musical program for the San Ginesio stop (edition theme, pieces, and guests) will be published by the organizers on the official website nyco.it in the weeks before the concert.
The concert is held in Piazza Alberico Gentili, in the historic center of San Ginesio (MC), a village in the Sibillini Mountains in the province of Macerata.
By car: San Ginesio is reachable from the SS77 Val di Chienti, exit Tolentino, then continue on the provincial roads towards the Sibillini Mountains (about 30 km from Macerata). By train: the nearest station is Tolentino, on the Civitanova Marche-Fabriano line, from which you can continue by bus or car.
Saturday, July 4, 2026, 9:30 PM.
