Monteclarense Carnival

A Carnival That Celebrates All of Montichiari

The Monteclarense Carnival is the most colorful winter event in the municipality of Montichiari, in the Province of Brescia. For over twenty years, Pro Loco Città di Montichiari has brought to the streets a grand parade of floats and costumed groups that winds through the heart of the town, transforming the streets into an open-air stage of imaginative costumes, confetti, streamers, and music.

The Parade in the Historic Center

The procession traditionally opens with the "Carlo Inico" Town Band and snakes along the main streets: via Battisti, where the jury's stage is set up, piazza Treccani, piazza Santa Maria, via Trieste, and via Portesi. The floats, carefully built in the preceding months, parade alongside the costumed groups in a competition of imagination and joy that engages both adults and children.

More Than Just a Parade

Alongside the procession, the program includes entertainment for all ages: inflatables and activities for the little ones, and a large food area with sweet and savory specialties typical of the Carnival period. The event attracts a crowd of nearly ten thousand people each year, confirming itself as one of the most attended events in the Montichiari calendar.

Part of the Carnevale dei Colli Circuit

The Monteclarense Carnival is part of the Carnevale dei Colli, the circuit that brings together the main carnival parades in the Brescia region. An opportunity to experience Carnival traditions by traveling from town to town between February and March.
