Youth Athletics Takes Center Stage

In Romano di Lombardia (Province of Bergamo, Lombardy), the month of March is dedicated to the Memorial Piana, one of the benchmark races for youth athletics in Lombardy. The event, a regional road running race, is organized by Pol. Cappuccinese (BG291) and is based at the Oratorio San Pietro Apostolo ai Cappuccini, on Via Graziano Crotti.

Categories Competing

The Memorial Piana is reserved for youth categories: Esordienti 10 M/F, Ragazzi/e, and Cadetti/e. Young athletes are therefore the true protagonists of a day entirely dedicated to sport, healthy competition, and athletic development. After the official races, a promotional race is also scheduled, open to all registered children, to involve even the youngest participants.

An Established Tradition

With its 28th edition in 2026, the Memorial Piana confirms itself as a historic and established event on the athletics calendar for the Bergamo area. The race is included in the regional FIDAL calendar and attracts clubs and athletes from all over Lombardy, making Romano di Lombardia a reference point for youth road running.
