Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint John

In 2025, Gressoney-Saint-Jean celebrated its patron saint, Saint John the Baptist, with the eve's bonfires and, on June 24th, the solemn Mass, the offering of lambs, and the procession in traditional Walser costume. Women paraded in the precious red and white dress and gold filigree cap, through the village streets at the foot of Monte Rosa.

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint John the Baptist renewed one of the most distinctive traditions of Gressoney-Saint-Jean. On the eve, bonfires illuminated the hamlets, while on June 24th, the solemn Mass, the offering of lambs, and the costume procession marked the day.

As per centuries-old custom, women paraded in the traditional red and white Gressoney dress and the gold filigree cap, while the Greschoney Trachtengruppe folk group performed at Obre Platz. A festival that each year reaffirms the Walser community's connection in the upper Lys Valley, in the province of Aosta, to its history and roots.
