The traveling carnival of Castelraimondo with trucks, jugglers, and street art
Carnevale on the Road is the new carnival event of the Municipality of Castelraimondo, a small inland town in the province of Macerata, in Marche. The idea that gives the event its name is that of a traveling carnival: not just a simple festival in the square, but a parade that crosses the town, bringing spectacle, music, and entertainment to the people. The heart of the day is Piazza Dante, from which the festival radiates along Corso Italia, the main commercial street of the town.
The first edition, held in February 2026, was dedicated to the world of the circus, street art, and performance. Circus atmospheres were the common thread throughout the afternoon: jugglers, circus artists, stilt walkers, and colorful clowns animated streets and the square, offering children and families hours of pure fun. The municipal administration conceived Carnevale on the Road as a recognizable and identifying event for the community, to be grown edition after edition.
A distinctive element of the event is the parade of themed trucks that runs along Corso Italia: real floats on wheels that host entertainment, shows, and choreographies, transforming into mobile stages. The artistic and choreographic performances are curated by the Centro Studi Joy Dance, which accompanies the procession with energy, color, and movement.
Carnevale on the Road is designed for children, families, and the entire community of Castelraimondo. More than just a moment of leisure, the event aims to be an occasion for meeting and participation, capable of animating the historic center and attracting visitors from neighboring towns. The first edition saw an excellent public response, with a boom in attendance that confirmed the success of the new formula.
Located along the Potenza valley, at the foot of the Sibillini Mountains, Castelraimondo is an ideal stop for those who want to discover the Macerata hinterland with its villages, nature, and traditions. Carnevale on the Road adds to the Municipality's rich calendar of events, which ranges from food festivals to the Corpus Domini Infiorata (flower festival), helping to make the town a reference point for popular events in the province of Macerata.
The first edition of Carnevale on the Road debuted in Castelraimondo on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, with a new format dedicated to the circus theme. The festival, free and open to all, transformed the town center into a large traveling show.
The edition concluded with a very positive outcome, featuring stilt walkers, colorful clowns, and excellent attendance from families and children.
