Every December 31st, Desenzano del Garda, in the province of Brescia, welcomes residents and tourists for a grand New Year's Eve public celebration. The heart of the event is Piazza Matteotti, a stone's throw from the Lungolago Cesare Battisti, in one of the most evocative settings on the southern shore of Lake Garda.
Music and DJ Sets
The evening kicks off at 9:30 PM with DJ sets and live music that animate the square until late at night. Recent editions have featured Radio Studio Più as hosts and well-known names from the dance and Italo disco scene, in a festive atmosphere designed to engage a wide audience of all ages.
Fireworks over the Lake
The highlight arrives at midnight, when the fireworks display illuminates the sky above Lake Garda. The fireworks reflected on the water create an unforgettable spectacle, making Desenzano's New Year's Eve one of the most beloved events on the Garda Riviera.
A City-Wide Celebration
The free, open-air event transforms the center of Desenzano del Garda into a large gathering point to welcome the new year. To ensure safety, specific measures are implemented during the event hours, such as the prohibition of glass containers in the event area. Capodanno sul Lago — edition 2026
On the night of December 31, 2026, Desenzano del Garda will celebrate the arrival of the new year in Piazza Matteotti, on the lakefront. From 9:30 PM, the square will come alive with DJ sets and music until late at night, with the highlight being the midnight fireworks display over Lake Garda. The free, open-air party is organized by the Municipality of Desenzano del Garda. The artistic lineup (DJs and guests) is traditionally announced in the weeks preceding the event.
